About Us

Edward Mullen founded Lawton Fire Consultancy Ltd after 32 years in the Fire and Rescue Service. As Head of Fire Safety at the North Lanarkshire Area of Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, Edward ran a team of fire safety enforcement officers whose job it was to enforce all fire safety legislation.

Now, Edward and his team use their experience to help keep the same people out of court and – most importantly – keep them safe from the dangers of fire.

For Lawton Fire Consultancy, effective fire safety management is about more than just understanding the legislation. It’s about understanding the impact of fire, the response of people caught up in one and having a full understanding of what can happen if your fire safety management is not up to scratch.

 

 

I used to have the responsibility of determining who would be served an official notice or taken to court for failing to comply with fire safety legislation.

Now through Lawton Fire Consultancy, I want to help keep employers, business owners and property owners out of court – and safe.

An experienced team

Every member of the Lawton team has served with the Fire and Rescue Service and every one of them was also an experienced Fire Safety Enforcement Officer. This means they combine practical experience, education, knowledge of dealing with fire and fire safety that includes an in-depth understanding of the legislation that is second to none.

Qualified in fire safety

First-hand experience of fire safety is not enough on its own. Each member of the team has also undertaken full fire safety training.

Founder, Edward Mullen, also has a degree in Fire Risk Engineering and is a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers. He is also a Member of the National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers.
